Following several months of concentrated effort by participating Research Communities, the completed FIM4R version 2 white paper will be presented at the TNC Conference 2018.

Join us on Tuesday June 12th from 09:00 to 10:30, in Trondheim, Norway.

The version 2 white paper represents an updated view of the needs and challenges of those operating research infrastructures that leverage Federated Identity Management. Recommendations in the paper target Technology Providers, Funding Agencies & Sponsors and Research Communities themselves, and seek to influence the future evolution of trust and identity. Communities from the following research fields have collaborated during the past year to define a list of common requirements:

  1. Arts and Humanities
  2. Climate Science
  3. Earth Observation
  4. European Neutron and Photon Facilities
  5. Gamma-Ray Astronomy
  6. Gravitational Wave Astronomy
  7. High Energy Physics
  8. Ionospheric and Atmospheric Science
  9. Infectious Disease Research
  10. Life Sciences
  11. Linguistics
  12. Nuclear Physics
  13. Radio Astronomy
  14. Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Centre

Prior to the session at TNC18, the paper will be published on Zenodo and made available. Following TNC18, the paper will be circulated for additional comment, in particular through the FIM Interest Group at the Research Data Alliance (RDA).
